Government (especially in U.S.A.) has become top-heavy, similar to what large global corporations are running like.
The lower classes are virtually excluded from involvement, although there is the perception that everyone's vote counts.
In practical terms, you now have large global corporations dictating policy to elected officials of both parties.
A perfect example is the following fact:
Exxon Mobil (a conglomerate composed of many energy corporations merging), reported the highest profits of any corporation in U.S. history, something like forty billion dollars profit for the last year.
In 1989, a drunken captain of one of it's tankers, was responsible for severe damage to the Great Alaskan Bay and that damage is still seen.
Exxon paid 1.2 billion dollars in 1991 for that disaster.
Instead, they should still be paying up, at least half of those profits should go toward helping the environment!
The lesson could be shown to the big corporations....when you run things lean and mean, you face ther risk of catastrophe because too few are minding the store!
Incidentally, the retired C.E.O. of Exxon Mobil earns $120.00 per minute.
These glaring facts should be on everyone's agenda to correct.
C.E.O. pay packages now average 500 times that of those of the average workers.
When inbalances like these pervade, expect unexplained events like 911.
Elected officials should be elected by the majority of citizens voting...not electoral colleges or decisions in the Supreme Court!
Voices of everyone should be heard in Congress...that means everyone should be calling and writing to their elected officials...and not having to accept answers like...just email me since we can't trust the U.S. mail after the anthrax attacks.

1. Tax Reform - scrap the current onerous, confusing system and move to a national sales tax.
2. Privatization of Socialism Security.
3. Repeal all Federal Drug Laws. This insane war on drugs is not worth the cost. It doesn't save lives. In fact, it costs lives by increasing the street value of drugs, thereby ensuring that only the scummiest elements of society will be involved in their sale. If states wish to make them illegal, that is their business.
4. Propose term limits for Senators and Representatives.
5. Refuse to engage the U.S. military in any foregin conflicts unless Congress abides by its Constitutional duty to Declare War.
6. Tort and Class Action Reform.
7. Let the nay-sayers be d***ed, build the wall between the U.S. and Mexico. Deport illegals and make them go through the process just like other immigrants.
8. Require the Federal Reserve to increase its disclosure to Congress. In our representative Republic, they have too much autonomy and almost zero accountability.
9. The President should inform Congress that he will veto every bill which does not have a section explaining the Constitutionality of the bill.
10. Since he doesn't have a line-item-veto, the President should lengthen the time he reviews bills to redline pork barrel spending projects. He can send the bills back to Congress with the message that he will not sign it until the highlighted provisions are cut.
11. Make Congressional retirement packages tied to 30 year bonds. That way, Congressmen will personally benefit of suffer from the decisions they make.
12. Reduce the Defense Budget from its current $400 mil./year to abut $200 mil. We could cut unneeded weapons systems like the Virginia Class submarines, F-22 Raptors, etc. Terminate all peacekeeping and overseas presence missions.
13. Cut the Dept. of Agriculture by at least $29 bil. I would start with the Farm Services Agency.
14. Cut the fat out of the Dept. of Commerce Budget starting with the National Marine Fisheries Service.
15. Eliminate the entire Dept. of Education for a savings of about $63 billion. What a useless waste of resources.
16. There is about $6 bil. of waste in the Dept. of Energy budget.
17. The Dept. of Health and Human Services is full of waste. It could still function well cutting about $66 bil. from its budget. I would start with the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (over $18 bil.) because I believe welfare should be managed on a state level.
18. Eliminate the entire Dept. of Housing and Urban Development for a savings of $47 bil. This is another useless department that does nothing for the benefit of Americans.
19. The Departments of Labor, Justice and Interior also have room for cuts.
20. The Dept. of State is ripe for cuts, particularly in the areas of the Foreign Military Financing program, Multilater International Assistance and Foreign Military Sales.
21. Eliminate the entire, useless Dept. of Transportation to save about $58 bil.
22. Eliminate the DEA and ATF, consolidating them with the FBI.
23. Propose term limits on Federal Judges, including Supreme Court Justices.

I would like international diplomacy to take center stage for a while. We've done a lot of damage to our reputation, and I think we should make an effort to clean up a bit. Not bow down, but just clean up and shut up for about a year or so and let the world find someone else to hate.

I would liek to see this country stop being run like a corperation instead of a govt. I would like to see the balance restored to the 3 branches of govt like it was inteneded to do, and give congress oversight on the exective powers to prevent some of the abuses of power that has been going on.
