In sims 2 pets (psp), can I adopt a baby or something?

I mean, is there any way to get a kid sim? I know one way but it's just too ugh

get the 2 sims to fall in deep love. ask them to kiss a lot and get their relation ship verry high. eventually they give each other what the have got and then the sim lady falls pregnent

get the sims 2 for pc. its better than the psp.
