Not a check for mental wellness, lol. but some sort of financial award for sticking it out, families are falling apart everyday.

Maybe if you qualify for the program, you and your kids get interviewed once a year and someone maybe observes your family one weekend a year or something.

I see a lot of participants are saying marriage should be dictated by love alone, unh humm, lol. Ten years is a long time, two people want even think about the money enough to make that the only reason they are together, its for those tough times, a distant thought to carry the couple thru. you know?

Sounds great to me since this year will be my tenth year of marriage! I think that there should be some sort of privilege for family. In most European nations, married families get additional time of work with pay for "family improvement" but in America this would probably be considered discrimination or favoritism. This is unfortunate since families get treated exactly the same but have a much greater obligation and duties to uphold.

NO. They are to be Congratulated for the Love and Commitment that they both have for one another. Love is a very rare Commodity now a days with Marriages falling part all the time and Divorce is as easy and common as going to the Grocery Store. If the Family continues to keep falling apart like it is doing there is going to be NO Society where the kids are involved where these Valuable Assets are instilled in them by responsible Parents. Some Parents today are Loose, Immoral, Drug Addicts, letting their kids have kids, and make all types of Excuses for their Behavior by bailing them out of everything they get into. Some Parents do not give a damn as they let the kids do anything they want to so they do not have to deal with them, and the Government PAYS teen Girls to HAVE KIDS one after another. They drop Babies every 12 months just to get a Check from Uncle SAM, and that is the way they know cause they have learned it FROM their Parents. Most of the kids do not know even who their Father is because he doesn't stick around to help raise them or Support them. That IS NOT a Man or Father.

Like any proposal like this the question is "Who pays for it"? Our taxes are high enough the way it is. Actually there are benefits financially for being married, like the way our tax laws are written, paid time off for spousal emergencies from work, benefits for married partners of workers, etc. So there are already a lot of tangible economic benefits to being married in our society. That's why gays and unmarrieds who are just living together are fighting so hard to get the same status under the law as married folks.

Having said all of that though, I do think that families with married parents could use more support and encouragement just generally.....

No way! Money does not solve problems. It is much better at creating them. Hey are you a politician or something. That's the same way government thinks you solve problems. Throw money at it. Lol! We need to start teaching unconditional love and stop no fault divorce. That would be my suggestion.

Is that a joke? American values are being trashed. The people are being manipulated and deceived Our work ethics and schools are a joke. Our country is going down the tube in so many ways. Our curriculum is not to advance society happily and socially. It is To Globalize and corporatetize.

I think that's interesting, cause I read somewhere that Bush spent I believe $20-$30 Million on promoting marriage. So that would be interesting.

Yes, but what about those of us who arent' into the conventional state of marriage? What about those who just live together for ten years, and want to be together for many more but just don't believe in marriage? What do they get?

The only award you should get for sticking it out is the enjoyment and love for your family.
