I DO NOT obsess about my looks and being a woman this is kind of an un-natural thing for me to do. I don't worry if I put on a bit of weight or lose it and I don't worry what clothes and make up people in magazines etc tell me to wear. Please make me feel better and tell me there are other woman out there who don't have to hid behind a mask every day to feel beautiful!

I wear makeup, but I am also an artist so for me it is like playing every time I put it on. As for all the other things no I don't worry about them. Sometimes I forget to brush my hair, luckily I guess, it is naturally what other people wish theirs was like.
I wear whatever I want too. Most of my clothes are solids in colors I like or made from fabrics I love to touch some are flattering cuts. Beautiful people can wear anything.
I will not spend a fortune on names. Quality but not names, I am not a billboard and I will not give anyone free advertising all day.

OOOOOOh no you are definitely not the only one I go to a VERY PREPPY high school where all the girls have all the best clothes and spend hundreds of dollars on makeup every month.... me on the other hand I wear what makes me feel good not what other people think look good and I wear makeup only when I feel like taking the time to put it on and yet I have more true friends than any of the girls that have the best of everything do so definitely don't feel down about yourself... you are unique and you should be proud to say it!!!!

My Lady Love is like that. She's comfortable with herself reguardless of everything and that's sexy to me. You're not the only one out there! (Besides, I personally think the women in magazines are too freakin' thin! I want a woman with some curves -- who looks like a real woman not a sculptured perfect plastic barbie doll.) Frankly -- I'm not perfect and I couldn't hold up against someone perfect. I like every imperfection a -real- woman has. A magazine and society has no right to tell women or men that they have to be this or that to be attractive it's bullshite. Not to mention damaging to the psyche of those that buy into trying to be that perfect person.

Hi I totally agree with you.
My hair is always tied up in a pont tail and I live in Jeans and t-shirts as they are comfy and practical.
I don't wear make up every day either I'm a home help/carer and would look totaly stupid with full face of make up and designer clothes while I'm cooking - cleaning and doing the shopping.
I do like to look nice on special occasions and will dress up for them and wear make up then. But every day I don't see the point

No. My skincare: facial soap is olive oil soap 75p, rose water as a toner, rosehip oil as moisturizer and eye 'cream', and clay as a mask, all bought at a health shop. Cheap, natural, organic, effective and my skin looks better than when I used any brand-name cosmetics. I don't wear a lot of make-up, and when I do I only wear powder, mascara, little blush, and natural lipstick, also all natural products.

Hair: I use henna for shine and strength, never colour or cut professionally at a salon, I don't use any salon products, and my hair is soft, strong and I love it. I also want to cut it myself. I wear it how I want it.

Clothes: I started making my own clothes because I don't want to pay money for poor quality and styles which don't fit me. I make my own fashion, and I am consequently free to choose clothes I like in colours I want. I don't have such a bad self esteem that I have to parade in names.

Health: I use a cheap skipping rope for cardiovascular workout (20 minutes of fast skipping burns a lot more calories than jogging on a treadmill for 10 minutes) and I do some Pilates on the mat. I eat my vegetables, fruit, drink water, tea and sometimes treat myself.

Conclusion: I don't spend money on cosmetics, make-up, hair products, fancy expensive clothes and posh clubs. I do have self-respect and I look after my skin and so on because I love who I am and not because I am aspiring to be something I'm not.

Good lord, no, of course you are not the only one! I don't buy into the cosmetic con, I don't spend hundreds of pounds on this or that new cream, it is all a con and they make us feel guilty for not having makeup or belonging to a gym - who cares and I am not that vain - there are far more important things in life!
as long as you are healthy - that is the main thing. Hair dyes, body lotions, fake tans and other cosmetics have been shown to increase the cancer risk, so are definitely not good for you anyway!

i dont see anything wrong with people that chose to wear maekup on a daily basis but the people that cake it on are awful.
i only wear makeup on a special occasion and i hate when people say you look sooooo pretty, why dont you wear makeup everyday or omg your really good at makeup as if there suprise.
it takes tooo much time and effort and i dont see the point to clog my skin daily tahts why i dont wear it and i have the hugeous collection of makeup thats actually good varying from estee lauder to clique to napolen perdis. you wonder why i have all this my mum loves buying it for me, i think she is hinting something lol so it aint difficult for me to known how to wear my makeup right
dont feel worried that you dont care about your appearance, its up to you, and just think maybe you have a higher self-esteem them all them people how put mask on daily.
appearance is important to me but the difference of 15 mins to my sleeping habits is more important then putting makeup on to go to school

Hellow fellow thinker, yes I can dress up like the rest of them but feel just as confident in my scruffs even if I was talking to the Queen, the secret is being happy with yourself,at 54, having had 4 kids, been through the menopause, I can still cut it with the rest of them if I want to but I don't feel that I have to for anyone but me.

I hate being told what to wear by the fashion fascists - most of the clothes only look good on stick thin 16 year olds in any case. Real women have their own style and don't need to follow trends. Real women have curves and are proud of them. Real women don't need to coat themselves in make up, as if they are ashamed of their natural beauty. Be yourself and be proud of it!
