Emerentia is okay, but not great. I wouldnt eat any of the fish. The vaal dam is the best i've been so far and it's not too far. I camped at a place called Jim Fouche. It's really nice there.

Depends on which type of fishing you are looking for. I visited Walkersons a few years ago with my husband and he is a keen fisherman and enjoyed fly fishing for trout. Walkerson's is in Dullstroom about 2.5 hours from Johannesburg. Here is a quote from their site:
Four kilometers of perennial river flows through the valley and 14 lakes and dams, all stocked with rainbow trout make Walkersons a fly-fisher's paradise.
I am not sure if you can dogs along.

Try Cape Town, and you may end up having a harvest of sea lions!
