Nobody knows.

Studies have shown that two adopted children are as a rule no more alike than any two children taken at random from the circumambient society. This suggests that heredity does play a part. See e.g. Martin Seligman "What you can change and what you can't".

Truth is I think it depends on the child. And on what is in the environment. Some children are much more accepting of the influences of peers and parents than others are. Some environmental influences that cannot ethically be controlled for in scientific studies, such as traumas and bereavements, are more potent than more commonplace influences.

This is an on-going debate through out all forms of social services so here I go...

Heredity has been studied through the use of twins, separation, and all kinds of physiological perspectives such as age, sex, race, etc. Through these studies we have generally come to some conclusions but nothing is certain. Generally, heredity is only a factor in the case of degeneration, disability, or some form of hindrance or deformity which impairs social factors. In these cases it has proven that these physical or psyco-physical impairments will hinder child development. Other than this nothing is certain.

Environment plays a huge factor in a child's development. Opportunities for development, fulfillment of the child's needs (mental, physical, social), social interaction perspectives, and virtually forms of influence come from the environment.

So, in my personal view the environment is far more important. Additionally, the studies tend to illustrate this as well but no exact pin-pointing has been possible.

I disagree with the above answer. that should be nurture. Nature ought to contain what's innate to a creature. Like a wild animal raised in a human ecosystem that ought to activate it really is human handler because it really is its "nature" to attack. Nurturing ought to have more advantageous of an effect on the human new child. with assistance from nature it really is regularly occurring with of to cry if hungry or in soreness, root for the mummy breast to feed, and sleep even as drained.
