I saw a thing once on a internet publisher that would do a very small run, but have lost the information. My daughter wrote an interesting story and I would like to have a few published.

If you are just looking to print a few personal copies, I recommend lulu.com. They produce bookstore quality books in a variety of formats, and their interface is user friendly.

However, for the love of god, make sure your daughter understands she can't go around calling herself a "published" writer just because you printed off five or ten copies of the book! I've seen this happen, and young people later get very embarassed when they find out that "real" publishers don't take them seriously.

Of course, if the story is really that good, why not grab a copy of Writer's Digest, The Writer, or Poets & Writers and see if you can find a publisher? If you search YA, you will find plenty of information on finding agents and/or publishers. Wouldn't it be much nicer to have her published in a real product (and get paid for it!)that just a few copies for personal gratification?

My husband uses a printers called authors online to print his book. He's sold 1000's but I'm sure they would do short runs as well. It wouldn't hurt to check anyway.

I think the website is www.authorsonline.com
