I think you changed your keyboard layout. Go to Control Panel -> keyboard, and set your setting to En-Us or whatever your region is.
For example, on a German keyboard, you get all the letters on the same place as on a US keyboard, but for @ you have to press Right Alt + Q. I think you just switched to a German, French or whatever keyboard layout.

If you have been stuffing with the settings on your computer you may have changed your keyboard to a different type. The UK and Australian keyboards are different with the @ and the " being changed. Maybe it is the same with the US version.

There must be some wrong connection. Call your hardware engineer and ask him to check your keyboard. If there are further problems change your keyboard.

the US and UK keyboard layouts are different, it looks like your location settins for the keyboard have got changed go to control panel and go to regional and language setting and change it back to your country or on the task bar click on the en beside the arrow and try to change it there

Try a diffrent key board are you sure some one did not switch the buttons on your key board.
