hard to explain this one, i went onto the pill femodine and it did not suit me, i only took it for a month, i came off it after taking 21 pills. then 28 days later i have had a tiny bleed and have started taking yasmin which i was on a couple of years ago. this pill suits me but does it matter if the bleed i had was not a proper period and i started the pill? does your body naturally adjust to the cycle of the pill?i have taken two yasmin pills and my 'period' has finished, i usually bleed for 4 days. can the pill do this? help!!

Pills will take control of your cycle. Continue to take your 21 Yasmin and at the end of this you should have your expected withdrawal bleed. Remember these bleeds are not true periods anyway, just bleeds due to the pill hormone withdrawal.

The light period was probably due to the change in your hormone from not being on the pill to then taking 1 for a month. It usually takes a couple of months for your body to adjust to the change in hormones.Keep taking the Yasmin pill and you will soon settle into a routine. If you are lucky you may not get periods!!

Hi there
You can bleed on the pill even though its pill days not period days even more so as you have changed your pill. I would advise you to take extra precaution this first month on the new pill and get into your routine where you take it the same time each day and next month you will notice that the bleeding may only be on period days.

Also the bleeding may not be related to the pill at all it could be a slight infection such as water infection etc, always get unusual bleeding checked out by your gp even if you think there is nothing to it. its better to be safe than sorry.

Good luck and take care hun x x

Did you know that modern methods of Natural Family Planning are as effective as the pill (i.e. over 99%), have no side effects, no long term effects on your health and fertility and are immediately reversible when you do decide to have children?

The Couple to Couple League run classes and have an excellent home study course which I can highly recommend.

Changing birth control pills when it comes to brand will alter your cycle until the body adjusts which will take about a week to do.

I would recommend checking with your dr to be on the safe side.
