Would it be 2X or X to the power of 2?

X multiplied by X give X squared

X+X=2X
X added to X give 2 times X

X-X=0
X subtracted from X gives zero

X/X=1
X divided by X gives 1

It would be XxX ... or it could be 2x, but it could also be X to the power of 2 ... they all 'mean' exactly the same thing.

just remember the rule

when you MULTIPLY 'like' bases- you ADD the exponents

so your answer is x to the power of 2
