For most colleges that require the subject tests, the reasoning test is still weighed more. Only the UC system weigh them the same, so SAT I is more important. So it's imperative that your SAT I scores are in the middle 50% or better for each school

SAT reasoning test is the most important because most (or all) colleges and universities require all high school students to take that exam. However, numerous universities, including the UCs (university of california) require the students to take at least 2 subject tests. Thus, the importance of the two tests do not change because both are required to get into the UCs. Many colleges, however, do not require the sat subject tests, making the reasoning test far more significant than the other one.
