What does it matter - you don't want to date him and that is all that matters.
Though coming from someone who has his butt picture posted all over the net - that is just a bit judgemental - talk about getting attention!

You must really be attracted to him since you called him a hottie and i guess the feeling is mutual. Most of the time, we just can't have our cake and eat it too. Talk to him and tell him how you feel and he is willing to make amends, i guess you should give him a bit of consideration too. Also be open to his opinion of you should you decide to open that window for discussion.

It is beyond our control as to who we are attracted to, it is there for a reason, listen to it, follow it blindly, and do not feel bad about it. It is a gift from God to help us know who we are meant for. That is not to say he would not make a great friend. It is your inner voice.

Don't date someone who "turns you off," and don't feel bad about it. He's just not the one for you and that doesn't make him or you a bad person.
