There are 2 Mennonite communities in northern Belize, specifically in the Orange Walk district. As you head west from Orange Walk Town you'll pass Shipyard. This is a traditional community that don't believe in mechanized tools. So they get around by horse and buggy and do all their farm work without tractors. You'll see them in the traditional dress. Heading further west you'll run into Blue Creek, a progressive community. They used mechanized machineray, have paved roads, dress in jeans - it's a stark difference.

They have a very closed community, but I've had a chance to meet some of them on a one-to-one basis and they are nice people.

Yes there is. We were in Belize 2 years ago and drove by. They have a huge self-sufficient community although I think it's more central than north.
