A granite must have 10% quartz, potassium feldspar and sodium plagioclase feldspar, and at least one mafic mineral such has biotite or hornblende. In addition, granites can have white mica (muscovite or paragonite). There are many accessory minerals that can be in granite, such as apatite, zircon, magnetite, pyrite, and sphene. This is by no means a complete list, just some common minerals in granite.
