I understand, I feel lonely too sometimes. But you have to have confidence in yourself, that's one of the better ways to beat it. Try to be around other people, and specifically, try to be around other people who share similar personality traits as you do. You can always find common topics with those who have the same hobbies and enjoy talking about the same things. But you have to test the waters out there to beat your loneliness. And don't be pessimistic about yourself, for you are no less a human being than those around you.

Go out. Do something that you really enjoy doing with a group of people you 'don't know' so that you can 'make friends' ... I know that 'loneliness' is a terrible problem for many people, but if you do what I've told you you'll be 'so busy having fun' that you won't 'be lonely' as often and someday you won't be lonely at all any more.

A healthy individual needs to be independent emotionally and financially. Spend time reaching those goals when you find yourself alone. Develop hobbies and other interests. Do a lot of reading about everything. Go back to school if you want to be among people and want to get ahead in your career. Maybe join a church too. Stop looking for someone else to come along and make you happy. No one can do that but yourself. Good luck.

a pet is good but the best I can think of at this time is get out there and enjoy some activities. Join a team like bowling, darts or even just start going to a gym to play some games (basketball, baseball/softball, or almost any activity you get a crowd in you will make some friends and some of them may be good friends you can hang out with.
a little worried about you Jett I have no other way to contact you but read your other question before you erased it I wanted to try and answer it but you beat me to it.

The only real way to get rid of loneliness is to get out into the world and be around other people. They aren't going to come knocking on your door unless you let them know you exist. There are tons of other lonely people out there, who have gotten out and created clubs, charities, and other organizations for every purpose imaginable. There's got to be one somewhere that is right for you.
Good luck!

when I get lonely I travel and go to a lot of wonderful places and seek refuge with the company of close friends. Sometimes I'll just get out of the house and walk endlessly to nice park. But if I'm tired I'll just face the mirror and talk to myself and give pieces of advice I would give to a lonely friend. Best remedy is to read the bible and pray.

Don't be afraid to be spend time on your own to reflect and get to know yourself better. Then make a list of the things that would make you a happier person. If it's getting friends, go out and get them - you have nothing to lose so do not fear being rejected.

You become comfortable and happy with you are as a person. Take it from one who has struggled with depression for years----if you aren't happy with who you are as a person, you can still feel lonely even with 100 friends. If you are happy and content with your life, you can not be around very many people and still not feel lonely. YOu might still benefit, though, by doing some socializing and connecting with people who care about you and/or have similar interests.
