As your husband is President of (correct me if I am wrong) your Home Owner's Association, it is all the more reason for you and he to set a good example of being neighborly is all about and it would be a huge, horrid, mistake to even think about bringing charges against a person for their stupid, ignornant, racist ways.

The best way to handle an overgrown bully is stay calm, cool and collected and never let them see that they rattled your cage and to tell him that he is entitled to feel the way his does, and sorry that he feels that way, but it does not change the facts that the ex-president did not spend the money appropriately and now you have to clean up the mess and really would appreciate his/her help, that you want what is best for all of the people in the neighborhood. If the person is still a jerk, tell them sorry to have troubled the, leave, and don't ever go back to see them again as they are not worth of your time.

If it is in an open meeting that they would spew such stupid remarks, remind them that America is founded on the melting pot of people from all countries that left their oppressive countries to make a better life for themselves, and that is all you want to do to, and to make the community a better place to live in for all people as you believe in America and you believe in your community and want to make that better for everyone, which is why he (your hubby) became President of HOA.

If your husband is President of the Home Owners Association (if that is in fact what you meant by HOA) in your area, I find if difficult that you can't afford a lawyer.

So someone said some "mean" things to you. It's possible there was a reason for this or maybe there wasn't. Either way, no crime was committed. Unless that person layed hands on you, you have nothing to say. Next time come back with some witty remark.

Ignorance comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, and nationalities. Your husband is the head of a Home Owners Association and found irregularities in the bookkeeping of the previous person so they are going to try to take the spotlight off themselves and their misdeeds by playing up to the now popular illegal immigrant theme. Inflaming people to say things they know are untrue and unkind. Since at one time all our ancestors were immigrants from somewhere. You do not need a lawyer just a good standing in the neighborhood, which you obviously have. If the words turn to threats of violence then certainly seek help, police, lawyer, City Council.

I am sorry you were called names, but in america people are allowed to say whatever they want to say. As long as they don't threaten you with violence there isn't much you can do.

Don't call a lawyer. People will view you as weak and dramatic.

If it is such a problem then your husband should walk to the guys house, tell him that people do not speak to his wife like that, and tell him to walk over and apologize.

Go tell Atty. Gloria Alred. She will take the case for free and make them give you money and apologize on TV. Or else just grow a thicker skin or learn to fire back. I am honsestly not encouraging anyone to sue, because that is the resort of the spineless. And by the way, if you are here legally welcome to America, if not speedy death to you.

Part of the laws and the constitution of this country that you supposedly respect, say that everyone has the right to voice his own opinion no matter how stupid it may be !

Well then it's time to accept the whole "freedom of speech" clause in our constitution.

So what if someone said it? People are cruel and you learn to ignore them. If they want to act childish, then let them. A lawyer won't be able to do you any good except rob you of your money like most of them do.

Ignore them and go on with your life... period.

come on, you whiner, do you think anybody cares that somebody called you a name? The judicial system sure wont. Get real and quit complaining.
