I'm not saying that hypnosis has no value of any kind at any time under any circumstances, but its results are not objectively verifiable. Even Sigmund Freud changed his mind about certain things.

But if you're still interested in it, I'd encourage you to read about the philosophy of mind and the history of psychology.
