Most US bound flights from Narita all pass over the Pacific ocean. Flights to LA or SF usually take about 9 hours. Flights from Narita to Chicago or DC or JFK take about 12 hours. If you were to fly towards Europe first, it would take about 10-14 hours to get to a major European hub such as London or Frankfurt.
I have had to fly from Narita to Europe, the USA and Latin America several times in the last 3 years. When it comes to adjusting to the time changes, it is easier to travel from west to east. Narita to LA or SF flights take off about 1600 and you can sleep for most of the flight.

It depends on the person.
I am interested in Asia and Europe basically.
I often fly to East Asian countries. Maybe Singapore is the west end, it takes 6 hrs flight from Japan.

Honestly speaking, I don't like to fly more than 8 hrs.
Maybe LA and Hawaii would be the only choice. (If I visit US)

From Tokyo to LA takes about 9 hours. I have done that flight many times. With the in-flight programming, it goes by quick.

With reference to flying around the world, I would recommend flying from west to east. Simply because it is faster to do it that way. With the rotation of the earth going from east to west, flying west to east means things on the earth are coming to meet you. As opposed to flying with the rotation of the earth, things are naturally moving away from you. So in essence you are chasing them down.

I'm not sure I understood your question, but I hope that helps.
