1st thing is he is a great human that laid his life to cricket....a great coach....one of the best if not the best....very creative and innovative...helped soooo many ppl.....and brought south africa as a cricketing superpower and has a record second only to the mighty australians....bob developed players like kallis....donald...pollock...cronje...gibbs...jonty rhodes....cullinan....these guys are super players and greats of the game....he brought south africa to the top echelon of world cricket..... and even brought a divided pakistan team together....he is remembered for more than 1 reason....he is a legend of coaches and scored 2 consecutive test centuries against australia with the likes of lilee and thomson bowling to him...what a person....and the cricket world has lost a super coach...his cricketing knowledge and everything else he offered to the cricket world.....and if this was foul play ...the ppl who did it should be punished dearly...and i dont buy that he died of natural causes....no way can a person die with vomit and blood all around him and on the walls unless someone beat him and this is foul play...

A great person who laid his life for cricket !!

Well he has done a lot for cricket when he was playing and when was coaching the teams....He owe alot to south Africa and Pakistan, everyone is pointing at humiliating exit of pakistan but no one has mentioned his great work ! he was not responsible for this defeat.......He took the charge of this team when they were much down and this time excluding the past few performances, they did great.. they stood 3rd in ranking and had a great record...now if they were down , it was none of Woolmer's faults.....teams can not perform the same all the time..and Pakistan team especialy, they are hero on one day and next day they would be zero !

The fact is that Bob Woolmer had done a lot for cricket and especialy for Pakistani cricket for which he would always be remeberd !

May His sould rest in peace !

Bob Wolmer was a hard working, honest and sincere man he gave his life to the game of Cricket he also lost his life for Cricket.

A1. He was successful with all the teams he coached not only South African team it means there was nothing wrong with his coaching but the players.

A2. Coach can only guide rest depends on players, if players do not want to learn then how you can blame coach (the teacher) and as said by INZAMAM in a T.V interview that he is only to facilitate and myself (INZAMAM) take all decisions.

A3. He was a great person even people who used to criticize him now praising him for his sincerity; everyone who met him became friend of him because of his friendly behaviour.

Coach can not have more than 49% responsibility of a success or failure of players, this is the ultimate percentage, and players have always 51% responsibility of their success or failures. E.g.: M. Yousuf broke so many records under his coaching because he wanted to learn but M. Hafeez and others did nothing because they were not keen to learn.

Option 3 : because even though he was not successful with Pakistani Cricket team but he showed through his death that he was 100% committed to his job and certainly more than any other Pakistani official and cricketer.

Answer from Khi., Pakistan.

I would say he will be best known for his great coaching he imparted to south africa. He won't be remembered as the person responsible for the team's dismal performance as its finally the players who have to perform. And yes he will also be known as a coach who cared a lot for his team.
