well i would assume that gay accent you are talking about is males trying to sound feminine...
and for women i think it would be similar.. like a woman trying to sound more masculine.

Not so much. The "butch" lesbians are more likely to sound masculine, but there are alot out there that don't give a clue at all.
If you met Ellen Degeneres in a club, would you assume she liked women? (Not judging by her dresscode of course)
