Some persons offer to provide it using relaxation
techniques to help you ease the effects of daily
stress.
Others offer to provide it using medically-based
relaxation techniques aimed at calming nerves and
enhancing performance.

Yet, a few others offer to provide it through hypnosis.
http://www.inner-calm.net/
Still, there are some who offer to provide it
through aroma therapy:
http://www.innercalm.ca/about_inner_calm.html
A better method appears to be this:
Sometimes the only thing that’s holding us back is that
we forget how much we need a few moments of peace; we
forget how important it is. We forget to take a few
moments to ourselves to go inward. Sometimes all we
need to do is remind ourselves of how much better a day
or a situation can be if we just take a few minutes to
find that calm.
Suggestion #1: Imagine an inner safe place you can go
to where you feel calm. Try closing your eyes, and
breathing slowly and deeply. Allow your body to relax.
Now imagine a place inside you, where you can feel safe
and calm a beach, maybe, or a grassy hill, or a
comfortable room.
Suggestion #2: Follow your breath; meditate. Make sure
you’re seated comfortably. Relax your body. Close, or
partially close your eyes with your gaze directed down,
and pay attention to your breathing (not forcing
yourself to change it).
Suggestion #3. Ground yourself in your physical
surroundings, and connect to your body. Take a few
minutes to notice the physical world around you. Use as
many of your senses as you can. Feel the chair or
surface you’re sitting on with your hands. Notice its
texture. Notice how your body feels, sitting on
something.
Suggestion #4: Find some calming sensory experiences.
Do you have a smell that makes you feel calm and
centered, or comforted? Perhaps a favourite smell from
your childhood, a perfume from someone who was kind to
you, a childhood toy, a beloved pet? Try to bring that
smell forward in your mind, or find a way to
re-experience that smell buy yourself a small bottle of
perfume or lotion, a box of crayons, whatever the good
smell comes from.
Suggestion #5: Write to connect to yourself, or get out
what is bothering you. Write a poem, or just write
whatever comes to you. Allow yourself to write freely,
without censor or judgment; just keep writing until
you’re ready to stop. If it helps to have a limit, set
yourself to write for two minutes, or five, or whatever
feels good to you.

Peace at home! In the kitchen, in the bedroom! And, the natural result of that, inner calm (peace of mind), something you experience, but not always able to define and explain! Like the real joy you get out of a good, sweet, short poem, ...or, from a good hug from a beloved person!

Humans are themselves complex, and like mines, more anyone could dig into himself more he can found the secrets or code of life of his own.
So there are, if you consolidate all the scriptures and intellectual writting in this regard, three unfold realities of human being, body, self & soul.
All these three are integrated and functional, but in todays world, science studies are limited to body, however science is now advancing to the meta studies, may be they could understand according to there own methods, a proven fact of centuries before.
Inner calm, then refers to very rear and special acheivement and includes therefore beutified sensations.
Realisation of God is the complete inner calm, because after that no question will be left to enquire, a very wise quote of one Saint is "God is the answer of all questions" refering to that state, another Grand Master said "those who know there soul, knows there God"
Other states of inner calm related to these compounds, satisfied self (ego, brain, id), purified soul (spirit, essense, human), opening of secret (knowledge), self realisation, expansion of mind, see through own eyes the universe, realisation of Saint, Prophet, & God, a complete Human or best of all the creatures ever created.
All these states are practical and perceptive, but cannot be understood through information only, hence inner calm cannot be defined clearly to the lay beings, so that they may acheive or even taste a bit, it is a life time question and very personel.

See the shore first. Then go into the sea.In the middle you can absorb the calmness.Inner calm means the same. All your action should have a maturity value. Then only your action will be justified.Inner calm doesn't mean keeping silence. It is to know the truth.

lust - anger-desires-greed are the four walls which hides the light of our soul.We act and live on the basic instincts dictated by our brain not soul. This creates ripples in our thoughts which are waves affecting our mind.Once we through our meditation , and by seeking the blessings of our divine creator can succeed in destroying the four walls hiding the light of our soul then we will merge our soul with our brain and our action will be governed by the soul .Thus we will achieve the divine bliss and inner calm...inner calm is nothing but achieving genuine peace of ..which is a state of enjoying the divine bliss
