yes it was a spirit....there are only some people that can see them...so dont be afraid maybe he needs to tell you something...yu should try talking to it next time you are in the bathroom at around the same time.....be nice to it some of them are good spirits.
My friend had a good spirit in her house..she would talk to it. One day she was boiling an egg and she fell asleep on the couch......hours past and then she felt a hard hit on her forehead that woke her up so scared to her feet. She then she remembere the pot....if she had not woken up the pot would've burned and possibly cause a house fire..So she knew it was a good spirit. In the beginning she would hear foot steps and she thought it was her kids that woke up..so she went upstairs and the kids were fast asleep.

Hi,
usually when I look into a mirror (you see, I'm really brave!) I see only my reflection.
However, many people believe in spirits and they 'appear' in many things, photographs (my wife 'reads' photographs very well, as a medium) and so on.
Spirits have been seen (or hallucinated, according to the beliefs of the explainer) 'in person' (i.e. not through anything, just by being there) so I see no reason why they should not be seen through a mirror.
Doubtless this, if experienced, can be an unnerving episode. Try not to worry. Throughout history ghosts and other spirits have 'haunted' the earth. None, to date, has ever caused anyone actual harm.
It is possible, I'm sure, that the fear of such apparitions, could have caused people mental problems, so...try not to worry.
It may well have been an 'false alarm', the lights may have flickered, you may have blinked and the reflection appeared to show something 'crossing'. Or, of course it may have been a 'real' experience and a 'real' spirit.
Just remember...no-one has yet proved to be harmed by the presence of spirits, so you really shouldn't worry. I realise it can be an unnerving experience, but you will NOT be harmed by this spirit, if that is what it was.
The presence of such manifestations, genuine or otherwise, can be 'removed' by certain people, some genuine and some charlatons (there are various 'haunting' TV programs from the UK, the USA and New Zealand being aired at the moment) You should be able to find one of these in the 'phone book. He or she will be delighted to help. The more genuine among them will NOT charge you for the help.
Good luck and please try not to worry.

This is a really good question.... I have heard of many people experiencing the sime kind of thing....It is hard to say really what you saw. I have friend that claims she can see her dead brother in her mirror every once in awhile. Most likley if it was a spirit you would have felt some sort of chill....no matter what religion or faith you have or anyone has people from all walks have life have claimed to catch a glimpse......If it was a spirit and it wanted to make contact with you then it will do it again. If it was not then its ok to think it might have been your mind playing tricks.....It is really hard to tell. I think you should go with what your first inital reaction to it was and follow your gut on that answer.

Uh huh... and when I look in the mirror, all I see is myself... I have never actually seen anything 'ghostly', though at times I HAVE THOUGHT I have seen darting black shadows in the corner of my eyes (and sometimes in reflections). Never once have I ever made anything out of it.
Except once. And ONLY once... it was when I was taking a photo, I had caught what LOOKED like a transparent head, and part of it's shoulders. I always assumed it was either a light trick, or maybe low resolution on the camera's pixels.
Are you sure you ACTUALLY saw it physically move behind you? Some times you can get weird/cool illusions created by refraction of light. Always think logically first, before jumping to conclusions that can't be explained away.

Mirror with Geometric Patterns and the Four Spirits
If you ever visit the Kyoto National Museum, look for excavated artifacts in Room 1 (Pre-Historic Archaeology), on the 1st Floor of the New Exhibition Hall.
Il se penchait sur leur mystere fluide. Il les contemplait comme
de fenetres ouvertes sur l'infini. Mais il les craignait aussi.
from Georges Rodenbach, L'Ami des Miroirs
The mirrors we use today are made of glass that has been coated on one side with a thin layer of reflective silver or aluminum plate. This kind of glass mirror was first made in Italy in the 16th Century. As technology improved, these glass mirrors spread around the world. But glass mirrors are not the only type of reflecting mirror. In Japan, in fact, glass mirrors were not used until the late 19th Century, in the Meiji Period. Before that time, the Japanese used mirrors made of bronze!
These days, we know a lot about the physics of light, so we find nothing mysterious about the reflected image in the mirror or the relationship between the reflection and the reality behind it. In the old days, however, people did not understand such things, so mirrors were more than just everyday implements; they were thought to have spiritual powers! In the movie Orpheus, by French poet Jean Cocteau, the main character uses a mirror to go from the world of the living to the world of the dead. People must have thought that there was something supernatural or frightening about the images and world reflected in mirrors!
Until recently, many people thought that mirrors could stop ghosts and evil spirits and that if a mirror broke it was bad luck. In the East, it was thought that mirrors should always be covered when not in use. Such superstitions show that mirrors were thought to have special powers.
In Japan, numerous bronze mirrors have been excavated from the tombs of powerful people from the Yayoi Period (200 B.C.- 250 A.D.) and the Kofun Period (250 - 552 A.D.) and temples and shrines have great numbers of old mirrors that have been handed down for centuries. This shows us that the Japanese too thought that mirrors had supernatural powers. The Japanese used such mirrors for festivals and exorcisms--mirrors were a symbol of power!
The mystical connotations of Asian mirrors can also bee seen from the patterns and inscriptions molded into the backs. Let's look at the patterns on one mirror and see how these patterns reflect the thought of the time in which it was made. This Mirror with Geometric Patterns and the Four Spirits is an example of a type of mirror that was made in great numbers in China from the end of the Early Han Dynasty to the Late Han Dynasty (from about the 1st Century B.C. to the 2nd Century A.D.), which corresponds to the Japanese Yayoi Period. Many of these mirrors were brought into Japan by way of Korea.

The patterns on this mirror are based on ancient Chinese beliefs. The ancient Chinese thought that the earth was a square covered with a large dome-shaped sky. The designs on this mirror symbolically express the "Round Sky, Square Earth" world view and cosmology of ancient China.
How exactly do the patterns on this mirror symbolize the "Round Sky, Square Earth" view? If you look at the mirror, you will see a square surrounding the central knob. This square represents the earth, while the thick circular rim of the mirror represents the heavens. The T-shaped motifs extending out from the center of each of the four sides of the square are pillars and beams that hold up the universe. The L and V-shaped motifs are devices that hold heaven and earth together. Between the knob and the border are many animals, the most important of which are a blue dragon, a white tiger, a red phoenix bird and a black wu (a tortoise intertwined with a snake). Together, these four animals make up the "four spirits," mythical gods who represent star constellations in the four quarters of the universe. The blue dragon represents constellations in the east, the white tiger in the west, the red bird in the south and the black tortoise-snake in the north.
Among the four spirits are spiraling patterns representing qi (ki in Japanese), a life energy that fills the universe. The ancient Chinese believed that if you lived in perfect harmony with the workings of the universe, things would happen as you wished. Perhaps people of the day thought that by owning a mirror representing the universe, they could get the same effect!
These kinds of mirrors often have inscriptions listing the happiness and good luck that will come to the owner. However, this good luck and happiness usually consists of long life, getting rich and moving ahead in the world. Don't you think these desires sound more human than godlike?

Well don't be scared. Most spirits are just earthbound and will not harm you. We are surrounded by them. I guess it is a blessing we don't see them. But sometimes we do. I have also. You must remember that we are energy and when we leave the body our energy goes out somewhere! Soon the world will be much more up on these things. We are very undeveloped since we only use our 5 senses. But we do have 12 in total. Do you see auras! Or lights around people. Or perhaps feel vibrations? Just bless these sitings and know that there is more out there then we can see. Fear is only lack of understanding, when you understand more you will not be afraid. No doubt those who saw wrote about it, more people see then you know. There are frauds out there but the truth too. Have a great day!
Peace to you Dale, Aura Instructor

I believe that when we look into a mirror, the spirits are looking at us, so you have caught a glimpse of one slooking at you, it may have fled when it realised you were able to see it. my parent's house has a few ghosts, I have experienced them for 20 years, and a few people have independently had experiences in the room I see orbs in. I believe they can touch you, i know people who have been hit and scratched in their sleep, and some who have been caressed and loved. It's all about the feeling you get when you are in their presence. i don't think anyone is going to 'take' you, and i believe your story. stay open and read more.

Hi, It' true, there are Ghosts, and Every one in our family has seen her.I say her, because it's the ghost of our sister. She showed up a couple of hours(maybe not even that long) after she was killed. She lived in Colorado , we where in California. She showed up numerous times, after our Mother and Dad got custody of her little boy.She had married a second time to a violent serviceman.(we suspected he hit her ) She was so determined, she was going to make us listen to what she was saying.I don't think she knew we could hear and see her. All to well ,matter of fact.My Mom took our nephew to the Dr.I don't remember why,but they found that his spleen had ruptured due to some one hitting him in the stomach area.He could have died real quick,if his mother hadn't been so persistent.Dad(who kept telling us the sightings where our imaginations) came and told us , the night they took little Don to the hospital,he saw Donna to!Well I'm in the same house, but there are different ghosts, some mean, but not physical. And Yes, I see them looking at me from pictures on the walls,I see them in the Garage for sure,I've seen the back of a man walk into the garage, and when I got the shotgun and went out to see, there was nothing. So yeah, I say there are Ghosts. Bye
