First, I'm not asking if it's a moral disorder. I'm asking if it's a mental disorder.
Second, I'm not being disrespectful. Just because I'm giving ideas that contradicted your candy-quoted ideas doesn't mean that I'm being disrespectful. I'm ASKING, moron. And yes, I'm being disrespectful now.
Third, this is in no way an attempt to further discriminate against homosexuals. I mean, so what if homosexuality turns out to be a disorder? Do we attempt to rehabilitate homosexuals? No, because if it's not harmful, we don't fix it.
Fourth, if you're gonna pull out the "Is being left-handed a disease?" analogy, think about this: If the world was filled with left-handed people, there wouldn't be any significant effects. (If any) But if the world was filled with homosexuals, wouldn't we have reproduction problems, since all of us are attracted to the same sex?

Well, I disagree that we'd have reproductive problems since the world is already overpopulated. Also, straight people outnumber gay people. Thirdly, since I don't recall ever deciding to be straight, I don't think it is a choice. You either are or aren't. Even in societies where homosexuality was completely tolerated, there were still families.
Also, I think at the heart of your question is...what exactly is a disorder? I linked to a list of mental disorders and I think what you will find is that they all inhibit function in everyday life. Homosexuality does not. If it were not for the moral outrage that is constantly being flung at them, homosexuals COULD live a normal life.

Based on the DSM IV, homosexuality was a disorder (has changed). As is cross dressing, being transsexual, fetishism, and smoking. However, as with any other disorder - or most anything in life for that matter - it is only a disorder when it interferes with daily life. For example, if you can not hold a job because you are too busy looking at pictures of feet or obsessing over the size of your nose (as in body dysmorphic disorder) or too busy being homosexual (whatever that means!) then the situation becomes a disorder.
Whether or not we should attempt to "cure" homosexuals is a different story. Most homosexual people function normally. If their "condition" doesn't interfere with their lives, technically, there is nothing to fix! However, if someone is homosexual and has issues that interfere with their lives what do we fix? Homosexuality? Or the issues that the individual has that are causing the interference? Is it actually possible to fix sexuality - homo or hetero? They have existed simultaneously from the beginning of time. Why can't there be two forms of sexuality?
As is the case with other disorders, inflicted people often ask for help. They realize they have a problem, want to function normally, and seek professional help. I don't see many homosexuals searching for help (other than for the torment they receive from heterosexuals). For that matter, I don't see any heterosexuals searching for a remedy.
If there really is such a thing as "extreme homosexuality" how would we cure it? With "extreme heterosexuality?" Wouldn't that itself be a disorder? I don't mean to answer your question with a bunch of other questions. It's just that if someone is homosexual and accepts it and functions normally but is being told by heterosexuals that they need to be "fixed" - Which group really has the disorder?

What it certainly isn't is a choice. Who, given all the bigotted morons out there ready to cAsommit random acts of violence (I think we call them Christians usually), would choose it?
Since it is exhibited in all higher animals (it can be a particular problem apparently in sheep flocks, where it can lead to a shortage of breeding males) it seems clear that it is part of a normal range of sexual behaviour. Too often people think of sexual behaviour as being properly confined to a very narrow range, which is clearly entirely false.
More worrying is the other aspect of sexual behaviour that does appear deviant - sexually vioolent behaviour. Almost all violent crime is committed by aggressively heterosexual males, and this does appear socially damaging and abnormal.

nicely sexuality is something this is taught - to an volume. If society wasn't so heterosexually-vulnerable, if people have been to discover intercourse for themselves, mindsets does no longer be constrained to easily heterosexual relationships. rather, charm may be in keeping with self theory. And merely because of the fact immediately intercourse is the only sort of intercourse to reproduce, does no longer mean that it is the main superb way of doing intercourse. intercourse is a actual act; no longer something greater or much less. thoughts might nicely be related to intercourse, and that they might rather be absent while pleasing in intercourse. The act itself is performed because of the fact we, as people, do what makes us sense sturdy. Our strategies tells us that intercourse with a guy or woman is what's making us sense sturdy. besides, the know-how "illness" has a adverse connotation, so it rather is puzzling to categorise homosexuality as a genetic/ psychological illness without feeling indignant. exceedingly while gay intercourse happens for sure in merely approximately each and every species of animal - which incorporate people. So this isn't any longer as unnatural as some might think of.

do i think it is a mental disorder no. i think for some it is just the fact that they connect better with the same sex. as far as moral well that is in the eye of the beholder. they arent pushing it on me so they can do as they choose. i dont think that your question was wrong in the least or judgemental you just want to know so that is ok. i guess we all have our own oppinions and some will think the same but just remember that it is only an oppinion and the only person it matters to is the one that has it.

What a boring quesion.
Not clever or profound. I'm not gay, or left handed and it's candy-coated, not quoted, which makes no sense.
No, it's not a disorder: there is nothing to suggest that there is any disfunction with gay peoples brains in any way.
Think about it, think about what a disorder is. And if you don't know then post it as a question here

I do think it is morally wrong, but I also think there's more to it than someone just making a choice. I think there is some hormonal problem or chemical imbalance. I do however think that a person can fight the urge and choose a morally right path.
