I know it's normal to worry about my child and every mom to be does it but it's been about an hour 20 minutes and I haven't felt him move... if it hits two hours I am going to call my doctor... I am 36 weeks... I'm just wondering from other's experiences if it's normal to experience a decrease in late pregnancy or for periods during the day... I do feel pressure in my pelvic area off and on but that is about it... I don't know whether to count the pressure as his movement or not... wish me luck & any advice or personal experience stories would be MUCH appreciated. Thank you from a worried mother&father-to-be

btw- I started counting from about 1:30 am (EST) - I have tried taking a warm bath...that usually gets him moving at least a little bit... but that didn't get him moving at all - I am reclining and relaxing the best I can

It honestly sounds like the baby is sleeping. Try drinking a glass of cold water and lying down to see if he moves. I have scary kids, they like to nap (in utero) for a really long time (as long as four hours) and then don't sleep when they are born. It worried me every time, but with this third one (I'm at 24 weeks) I don't worry anymore, I'm used to this. You can try eating something to, sometimes that helps. Call your clinic if you are really worried, but I put my money on an extended nap.

Well you need to take into consideration how often the baby normaly moves. If normaly the baby moves alot then I would only slightly worry, because it sounds like your baby could be "dropping" meaning your uterus is getting into your pelvis further so that you can deliver. Decrease in movements is also a small sign that labor may be near. But dont count on it.
Your dr will probably tell you that if the baby goes a full day with out movement then it is time to worry... but if you have felt movement in the last 24 hours you should be fine.
Try not to stress :) Everything will be fine :)

At 36 weeks, your stomach and womb are stretched to the max due to the baby's growth, thus not allowing your baby the same amount of room that he/she may have had even a month ago.
It's perfectly normal I say. If you're concerned, try consuming a 12 ounce soft drink or eat a candy bar to see if perhaps the baby was just a bit lazy at the time. Your baby could also be sleeping, so there are a couple of things that could be happening. In the end though, I think you're doing just fine and your pre-birth jitters are starting to kick in! =)
Congrats and I wish you the very best!

When in doubt, empty your bladder, drink some juice or something with a sugar, lay on your left side and feel for baby to kick. You should feel at least 10 kicks in an hour or go to the hospital ASAP!
It is kind of normal as the baby runs out of room as they grow to feel less intense movement, but definitely should be feeling movement every few minutes or follow directions as above.
Good luck and I hope everything is okay! I teach a birth preparation class and this is what I teach my students.

Lie on your side in a dark, quiet room. This way you have no distractions. Drink either water or juice, and concentrate on movements from baby. At 36 weeks, you should have roughly six movements per hour (called 'kick counts'). If this produces no movement, you should immediately call your doctor and tell them all the things you have tried.

Have you laid down? That might help the little one get to moving. Please call your dr, and see what he/she says to do, and ask if you can have a non-stress test soon. I had some non movement times with my pregnancy-and did that test a couple of times. The second time, the dr. took me directly in for an ultrasound, found my baby in breach position (frank breach). Scheduled a c-seciton, and the baby turned around (with prayer) and was born three days before the c was to take place. Dr.'s are accustomed to having new parents ask questions, and have the concerns we have. I wish you all the best. Take care.

I was worried too when this happened to me, but it's just that suddenly it seems the baby is just to big for much movement or kicking anymore. My son went from being a total soccer player to almost nothing, and it was indeed worrying, but it's totally normal. Don't worry..... and good luck!

Baby is probably just sleeping. I like the advice of the others to drink some juice or eat something light and lay down on your left side to see if you notice anything. I'm sure everything is just fine Mama.
