the movie plays on every sweet and sensitive nerve a woman has. It appeals to love, and loosing who you love with nothing you can do to help the matter. It has sweet scenes, tender moments, all that stuff.
there are days during a year when I crave a chick flick. But you might have found the only woman in the universe that doesn't really care for this one. I probably like ones that are even worse than this though. Pretty in Pink gets me angry at the end; she should have gone with ducky. Cassablanca too, wrong ending for me. Rick and Elsa should have left his butt there and went together. Don't get me started on wrong endings to chick flix.
The reason notebook is so popular with most women is the smaltzy plot and sappy love story.
if you ever find a girl who loves the same movie as you do, she is special. hold on to her with dear life!

I really liked the movie until nearly the end. When you figure out that she knew she was forgetting things, and wrote it in the notebook for him to read to her to help her remember her life, I was crying......but then!
BIG BIG REVERSAL of opinion.
This extra 15 minutes of then seeing the 2 of them in bed and just dyin together...that was completely TOO MUCH over the top. I stopped right there and then. I was so so disappointed.
Please, you can have tear-jerkers but that one had a reverse effect on me. Too much is too much. Its like the film director was trying to put all the sad love story elements in one movie.

I heard rave reviews about it and thought it was kind of dull and trite. It was a cute romance, but, it dragged out a bit. I do like Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, but, they were much better in "Mean Girls" and "The United States of Leland".

ME!!! I hated that movie!!! Yuk..... 90 minutes of my life I could have spent sticking wedges of bamboo under my fingernails I'll never get back...... What a horrible movie!
I should have twigged when I saw it was based on the book by that bloke who wrote The Horse Whisperer. My own bleeding fault really.

I really loved the movie but think it is really overrated. There are movies way better. You should watch serendipity it's probably my favorite romantic comedy movie. Well there are others but there more in the indie serious side. Sorry this question wasnt really directed towards me but oh well.

Saw it. Didn't like it. No disrespect to whoever played the lead characters, but Nicholas Sparks stories get on my nerves. "A Walk To Remember" kinda made me cringe, too.

I've never seen it. Don't want to see it because it doesn't have a happy ending.

Me
It is cheesy, lame, and reminds me of my ex boyfriend who needs a box of kleenex besides him just to watch it.
