This answer is mainly directed to the comments of ur_max.We all know(rather knew) what kind of a batsman Sehwag is and that he can take away the match from under the noses of any opponent in modern day cricket.But if he fails to perform consistently since the past one odd year do we still keep him in the team just because he used to blast opposition bowlers once upon a time?Are we so dearth of talented openers.What if he doesnt deliver the goods when we need him?He may score a triple hundred once he comes back to India in Ranji or any domestic match.....but is that knock any useful for India?
No one is indispensable in the team.The selectors have to take a few bold steps.
But what is the use now?

Everybody has a lean patch.No doubt. But the problem with Sehwag is he never tried to improve. He doesn't know what is FOOTWORK. It is basic attitude that is lacking. About India winning WC 2007.... now it is very difficult because first they have to beat Bermuda and Sri Lanka convincingly. Then thay have to meet Australia and South Africa in the Super Eights.

I agree, India would bounce back.
The reason behind sehwag there in the team, is his ability to take the game away from the opposition when he fires, its true his consistency is not good at all, but he fires, he fires wrath, he can take on any kind of quality attack, he's just one inning away from his devastating form.
Dont forget in the match against bangladesh the wicket was doing a lot and ball came back in sharply, he was quite unlucky in that match.

Sehwag sucks!!.I don't know why INDIAN TEAM still believe on that guy . He don't know what 's the cricket. he don't have any kind of foot work .He is big 0.

why we depend only in shewag
i don't know why but i think that our captain rahul is supported him i don't know why but it is true i think rahul believe that shewag can help them in bowling but if only think in bowling so why we drop pathan , anil kumble etc. patan can bat better than shewag
& karthik can also bat good . when team india is in trouble he help team india.
I dont knw why selectors help shewag????????
& i m seriously told u that if we want to win wc then we must hav a captain who is energetic like ganguly who shows his aggresion........................like sorav ganguly
