When an ad appeals to emotions, it is considered appealing to your pathos.
Way back when, Aristotle identified three forms of rhetoric, or is the ability to persuade. There is ethos, pathos and logos.
ethos is appeal based on the character of the presenter
pathos is appeal using emotion
logos is appeal based on logic or reason.
As for part 2, I would just call it innovative.
