They recently beat some of the top teams: Buffalo, New Jersey, and Ottawa (twice)

They'll win a round, but not much more. They're not deep enough on defense and Fleury is too inconsistent at this stage in his career. He gives up too many softies, squibbers and flat-out-uglies for the team to be able to recover from come playoff time.

Pens fans will freak, but it's the truth. They definitely look like they have cups in their future, but most likely not this year.

As a Canadian, i might like to work out Crosby and another Pens journey up for Canada on the subsequent international Championships. even in spite of the shown fact that, i comprehend that Crosby might fairly be taking part in for a Stanley Cup, and it is frustrating to root against that. i've got already been finding at many of the lesser communities this season, and who ought to symbolize us in the spring. There are certainly some men accessible that are stable opportunities - Cammalleri, Gagner, Horcoff, Iginla, and so on. no longer that each and every person accepts the invite, yet i'm already hopeful.

They may win a round or 2, but that's the limit. I really can't see them beating Buffalo or New Jersey in a 7 game series.

You need to have a playoff-tested Goalie and experience. Fluery has been largely inconsistent and for most or all of the Penguin stars, this will be their first taste of playoff Hockey.

Give it 2-3 years, it will be different. Be patient.

I like this team very much,it's full of talent and incredible skills, they play really attractive hockey, sometimes it seems you watching game from 80-s,they never give up.So it looks like Pen's got a big chance in the postseason games, but it' gonna happen only if young players with no experience will very quick understand playoffs mentality, then it's a big question about their fizical condition - not all of them played such a long season plus extra 7 or 12 games on the very different level.so I hope they will go far,but to be realist - it's gonna happen only with big luck - ti means I think Pen's gonna do max. second round.

Yeah but remember that Shootouts won't be an option in the playoffs. So can they do it in just regulation and unlimited OTs(yeah they beat the Devils in regulation), that will be the big question. Anyway I'm still saying they lose in the Eastern Conference Finals.

It will be the pens and the devils in the conf finals. Then it depends who can force their style of play on the other team. As usual, New Jersey will advance if the series takes on a defensive tone. If its about offense, the pens will advance.

The west will be between Dallas & Detroit.

I think they will know they have to work extra hard to get in.
i know they have it in them.
;but not to be picky about your question, but crosby and the pens?
he is def. my top player but its a team effort.
hes just one star among the sky on our team.
so i think your question s hould be how far will the pens get.
thanks.

all i have to say is remember Cam Ward when he was in the playoffs for the first time when you critisize fleury. they have the potential to go very deep in the playoffs.

They will have trouble winning playoff games because they won't be able to win using their regular season strategy; that is, hang on through regulation time and OT, then win the shootout. No shootouts in the playoffs.

Bad defense, inexperienced goaltending.
...good thing they got Roberts.

Edit: Oh, to get good ratings, maybe I should say that Sidney Crosby is soooo sexy. Just for all those 12 year old girls out there.
