I went to a army camp training thing today and one bit of the course was to cliimb up this robe ladder thing and do a tumbe/foward-flip once your reached the top. i lost my grip and fell head first into the water =.=

so embarrasing. it was a good five metres. anyway while i was falling i hit my hip on the wooden deck and now i have this huge bruise. its red and it has a few little cuts, it hurts when i walk and stuff. how long will it take for the pain to stop and for it to fade?

wat medicine should i put on it?

Weeks or even more than a month. You can always use leaches to remove bruising. Here this is a real technique. But I'd rather just let it go away hon it own. However long it takes.

Ice massage for the bruising - it will cut down the swelling and increase circulation to promote healing. If the cuts got full of dirt, you'll want to use an antiseptic agent, like hydrogen peroxide to clean them out. Otherwise, washing very thoroughly with soap and hot water should suffice. If you got a deep muscle/bone bruise, you're going to feel it for a good week, or two, depending upon how bad it is, and how quickly you heal. With stretching and exercise you should only be hobbled for a few days.

scrub it well with hydrogen peroxide and try to keep an antibiotic ointment or some merthiolate (now been reformulated without mercury) -------the bruises----would have to see them but sounds like you took a pretty good spill----might ache for a few days and make walking stiff and painful.-be prepared----your hip will turn all kinds of crazy colors for the next week or two--------will gradually fade away I'm guessing about 5-6 weeks. Good Luck--------your main concern is to not get an infection on the cuts.

no medicine will help a bruise, for the cuts on it use tripple antibiotic ointment. it will take a month or more for a bruise like that to fade all the way, the pain may be gone before the visual effects are though. i had one bruise that lasted 3 months. the deeper an harder the bruise the longer it takes for the cells that have been damaged to be replaced.

Ouch!!!

I had multiple bruises, very deep, on my shins back in 1995 from helping a child in Karate promote to his black belt.

He did not pull his kicks, obviously, and I ended up bruised.

After 2 years of seeing them down my legs, I read in a book called "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" that Pineapple Juice (drank, or eating pineapple) is a natural anti-inflammatory that will help rid you of bruises.

I love pineapple, so I drank 8 oz a day, and in 2 weeks, they were gone. This, after 2 years of them being there, never fading away.

Your pharmacist can sell you a cream that should fade the bruise a little faster, but you'll still have a doozy of a mark for probably 2 weeks. It's gotta go purple, then green before it fades.

For the bruise, if you put a piece of raw steak on it, that will help.
