I just took a pregnancy test a minute ago, and I got a positive reaction bar thingy, and now I'm sitting here having cramps, but my period is a week late and I'm always on schedule. So what could this be? I calculated it online and I'm 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant.

Well, CONGRATULATIONS Mommy! Don't worry about the cramping. It could just be your uterus expanding. I had occasional cramping feeling as well in the first trimester. If, however, you start bleeding or the pain intensifies and isn't mild that's a different story. But I'm sure everything is perfectly normal and okay.

Best wishes for a healthy and easy pregnancy and child!

I think that it is sometimes normal to have some slight cramping, it may be form the shok of it all. You are for sure pregnant, you should get in to see a dr to confirm the results. Most dr's wont even see you untill your second missed period just to make sure its not just a late period.

Depending on the severyity of your cramps they may be normal and they may be signs of a miscarrige. If they are bad, go to the er so they can check you out, if they are just small then it could be nothing, but keep an eye on them just incase.

I am 21 weeks pregnant and I had cramping at about 5 weeks, I went to the er and they said it was nothing, but come back in 48 hours for a follow up blood test.

You may want to think about where your cramping is, because if its a stabbing cramping and its more one one side or the other it could be eptopic, which means that the pregnancy is in your fallopian tubes, and will have to be termintated because it could kill you if the embryo grows too much and ruptures your tubes.

I hope this is not worrying you..... I just wanted to be helpful, but I have to be honest, I wont lie about it. Its most likley just the shock of the situation, our bodies react weirdly to things like that.

congrats!! I also had cramping early in my pregnacy. They would always send me home. If you start to bleed to go to the er, but right now ur uterus is expanding. Dont worry there will be a 100 diff things. wait till later when the babys pressing on ur pelvis and you almost fall over, or when u pee ur paints cause the babys pressing on ur bladder. It all happens.. Go to the doc and thell tell u how far along u are.. I am now amommy to a 4 week old little girl..

The "cramps" maybe what is called implantation. The embryo is burrowing into the uterus lining. You may get a little bleeding too. If you have another pg test, check in the morn and you'll probably get a stronger line.

All the best! Remember it's a most natural condition, not a health problem at all! Do your clinics and consultations in the normal manner, keep in touch with the (family) doc!

well, i think you're pregnant, bcoz having cramps doesnt always mean having a monthly period soon, it could be associated with your pregnancy... should i congratulate you or not? if its planned, congratulations then... but if its not, then ...
