America would be the Spartans in this situation

I agree somewhat; they are pushing and certainly our soldiers are brave.

But the 300 were in a dead end situation, literally. They were vastly outnumbered and died heroes to their city-states. Our soldiers CAN BE so outnumbered by our current enemy and wipe them out easily. That is why we have such supeior military technology. But they are hampered by the nay sayers who want to cut and run who do not allow us to do what is necessary over there. The US could turn Iraq into a parking lot in one week, but we have to worry about this and that.

Ironically, I would say the closer comparison would be if all the Persians had their hands and feet bound with their weapons laying in front of them. Even with all their numbers they could not win because they would not be able to use their weapons.

Don't think this movie is compairing Iraq truthfully.

I mean movies like this are supposed to teach us about lessons in life but you guys are searching for one that isn't there..

If you read up on the information about the movie the creator made a comic series about 300 in 1999. Which is before Iraq.

At anyrate this isn't politcal if you want to argue about that make another subject. Its just a plane good movie

I have to agree with gabriell, we are definitely not the Spartans. I went and seen the movie and thought it was a good movie. Yes there was some gore in it but that is what war was/is like and worse.

Of course. the americans are always the good guys.

What about this movie reflects current times?

Dropping cluster bombs? Setting up of democracy?

Please Please Please realize the difference between hollywood and...say...history.

Have you ever seen Pearl Harbor? Not accurate but its a movie so uneducated people think that its the truth. You want to know history about the persians and greeks, go pick up a few history books.

You see, books are like krypotonite to hollywood.

If one took for granted it's the real thing.
Then trying to self expose the misery of their own ancestor's in planet of apes.
Wonder why they can't differentiate between fantasy and reality or ghostly stories in planet of apes.?
