...what "right" do you believe was breached...? please explain... your question says... you had a conversation...? do you feel your telephone was being tap'd...? was someone listening to your conversation... but then your question goes on to say... "and tap into my conversation and read it"...? and something about you reading it and him reading it...? I'm a bit confused... what "right"...? (if you are currently under investigation for criminal activity) or "stuff" like that, you might be tap'd... but your mail arrives from the Post Office "secure".
If the person you were communicating with is under Federal inditment or investigation for "stuff"... then "yes", the Fed's will tap "his" conversations... if you happen to be on the "other-side of the conversation"...your on their tap...
What is on a Federal tap can only be used against you if "they" indite you in a Federal Grand Jury with the intent to prosecute... you're either in wayyyy over your head or just being paranoid...

You can usually tell when that is happening. My sister works for a consulate the office is within this country. We can now tell if and when the government is taping in because it will cause certain clicks etc to sound on the line. She is amused by it and will say loudly on the phone. "And for those now joining us we are talking about ..." It is pretty funny.

We also had clicks go off when we were talking about if we should move to NH to join the libertarian movement there. Just saying certain words or combinations and the amount of times said will trigger that stuff, but it is really by computer, not some guy sitting there listening to you.

It doesn't really matter - as long as you are not a terrorist they don't really care.

It's quite possible the message was intercepted and read if it contained key words or phrases that would kick it out of the constant flow of messages and take it to a higher level of scrutiny. Or if he is already on a watch list.

Don't you feel safer already?
