I enrolled in a community college intending to go on to a four year institution and eventually get my PhD in psychology. However, after a semester and a half of study, I've decided that the academic life just isn't for me. I do fine in my classes. I currently have a 3.0 GPA. I'm just not willing to deal with the hassle anymore. I miss my friends back home.

I'm digressing. The point is that I don't want to walk away with just a handful of credits and a bunch of student loan bills. I want to continue on to get my associate's degree at least. Which associate's degree major would be the most valuable?

I'm thinking perhaps Library Science?

Not many Associates are worth the paper or time invested in it- a Bachelors is required to get into most good jobs these days. As a basic education..... no joking.

You do realize a Degree is about "paying the dues of time" not your "likes or dislikes". Right? A degree in underwater basketweaving is just the same as elementary education these days. Its Grad school that you "fine tune" the job market skills. Do it now, while you are young, trust me on this one!

Most lucrative and productive associate programs are technical skills. Computer, Cosmetology , Automotive and Nursing are the most popular.

Currently paying down over $200,000 in student loans.... Oh I wish I was joking.... so that good job really helps to pay that $880+ a month.....So please call me Dr. I 'm paying for it.
