If you really think about it, it is quite macabre to wear a cross. How many of us would wear a small gun with our loved ones plastered to the end of it with their guts sticking out if they had taken a bullet for us?
So if you really think about it, it puts things into perspective.
If our loved one jumped in front of a car to save us and was smashed to death would we as a symbol to remind us of the love have a small replica of the car that killed them and a small body model as they looked when they were smashed and wear it around our necks or as a piece of jewelry?
I can only imagine that someone used it to make a point. Thanks for sharing!

Actually, it is inaccurate. Jesus did not commit a capital crime, and with today's laws, he wouldn't have been put to death. The electric chair is reserved for capital crimes.
Crucifixion was also a public spectacle meant to humiliate and show the power of the govt.
What happened to Jesus would be more closely paralleled by the videos of Muslims cutting off the heads of living people. Of course, even that was more humane, because death came much quicker.

Not very amusing.
Since I'm both Catholic and a girl!
If Jesus was killed twenty years ago in the same land in which he died it would have been GUNs that killed him anyway not electic chair.

It really makes no sense at all. If Jesus was around 20 years ago he would not have been killed by the government. He was crucified by Pontius Pilate who ruled "the roost" if you will. He would have been billed as a humanitarian and if he did die it would have been similar to the way Martin Luther King Jr. died.

It _is_ funny, but doesn't it depend upon the method of death? Electric Chairs weren't the only death sentence available. Why wouldn't they be wearing mini-syringes or a miniturized firing squad?
Also, he was killed in the Middle East, right? How about a suicide bomber or some other barbaric means of death?

It made me smile. Didnt make me laugh, so I wouldnt call it "funny", but its pretty much true I think. Assuming the Romans are still around and they have the electric chair, and are still killin any Jews that stand up to them.

Very interesting.
Kinda sick that people choose to remember the way a person died rather than the way they lived.
He might not be that popular if it had only been 20 years ago though.

It's a twist on the Alexei Sayle joke, in the same vein. His was more 'visual' humour. I believe it went "We'd all be going Bzzzzt!".
