hey as the title suggests i am doing a project and need some help regarding on artistic invention during ancient times..

i thought of Chinese Characters, and Silk etc.. but i need professional info about how they had developed ancient China or sth.. it need not be Chinese Characters or silk, chinese callig i m ok too, any artistic invention plus its contribution is what i need =DDD
