astrology is based on science, but predictions made on the basis of the position of the planets are purely based on case studies (ie, when mars is there, 9 out of 10 people with this type of horoscpoe will suffer this). the calculatoons made are pure math, but the predictions made are pure bluff, and only serve a placebo effect (that's my opinion n e way)

There are so people who totally belief in it. There are people who totally don't believe in it.
The problem is that it is not scientific enough. People who practices and learn it can not prove why it is real deal from scientific approach. Because there are not way to prove it is real, many people fake and hoax it. Making it even less believable. If someone say they can do fortune telling, how much you will believe in that person ? There are so many scammer out there. It is just not worth it.
There may be something supernatural out there. But doesn't mean that it is easy to bump into.
Think about the magic and magician you see on TV. Are there real magic, NO. They just know the tricks and make you think that they have supernatural power. It is all psychology + physic + practice + presentations.

There is no scientific validity to astrology, and there is no known physical mechanism by which the positions of the planets have any effect on life on Earth, beyond perhaps bringing stargazers out to look at them. Any success an astrologer might have in interpreting a horoscope owes more to his knowledge of human nature than to the planets.

Let us not confuse and clog our minds with the thinking that things have to be SCIENTIFIC, in order to accept or believe in various ideas. More over, there is also a tendency amongst us to say that non-Scientific data and thinking are "scientific".
SCIENCE is a confinement of human thoughts and actions wherein more of the hidden potentialities and phenomena of nature are unraveled through their effects on ALL our SENSES and through the resultant CREATIVE and IMAGINATIVE values of sense of perception.
A few aspects that show up on this score are as follows:
# Any phenomenon to be considered under the realms of science needs to be REPEATABLE under the same conditions.
# Science is OBJECTIVE in that it does not accept any phenomenon as FACT unless their effects on our senses could be verified and replicated.
Thus, although creativity and imagination are necessary to arrive at CONCEPTS and THEORIES on various phenomena, the factors those differentiate science and all other human Ideas/ Thoughts are these REPEATABILITY and OBJECTIVITY.
Astrology, Arts, Engineering, Technology, Music ...and the various other human thought processes/ actions depend on science for proving their veracity and factual effects. Thus, although certain "predictions" in Astrology do seem to attain levels of "close approximations", their yardsticks do not conform to those of the scientific phenomena. If it were so, such concepts would definitely find their way into the realms of science. Merely proclaiming that Astrology is a science DOES NOT give it any status of science. Any prediction would have to be OBJECTIVE and REPEATABLE, to be considered as scientific.
To explain these basic tenets of Objectivity and Repeatability, let us consider the following:
When we place the highly volatile material, ETHER, in a beaker, open to the atmosphere, we note that the liquid quickly evaporates and the beaker becomes very cold ... moisture getting deposited on the outer sides of the beaker. This phenomenon is due to the effect of EVAPORATION, which needs heat. But, in this case we are apparently seeing a phenomenon of Cooling, instead of Heat. This is in fact the result of the removal of the available surrounding heat by the evaporating liquid. The net result being Heat Removal, cooling takes place. It is this phenomenon that is repeated in a Refrigerator, although the engineering needed to construct and operate a refrigerator goes beyond this rudimentary experiment.
Finally, we need to recognize that ALL HUMAN THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS ARE CREATIVE works, and should NOT be ridiculed. But any attempt to equate such thinking with those of Science is not correct.

In early India astronomy was combined with astrology dats y people were able to predict things like eclipses and so on.....u yourself have said that they were unable to predict human futures.....it shows that astrology has no science base.....today both r different and r studied separately...So considering today's astrology they r nothing but blind faith.....

When the doctor prescribes a medication, it is with the understanding that the Rx either may or may not produce the desired results, and it sounds like, "We'll try this. If it doesn't work out, we'll try something else."
Same with astrology.

No because astrology has COMPLETELY NOTHING AT ALL to do with astronomy !!!!!
The reason why people do is because they both involve planets.
We study planets not plan our day because of where they are.
grr !
