how much you water and how often depends on the location and the potting (you want a well drained pot with sandy soil)
most cacti do not require water more than once a month if they are indoors , however, if they are in full hot sun, you may give them water once a week.
never let your cactus sit in water.
most little cactus with flowers have fake flowers glued to them.... you will want to verify this as if they are real flowers, often the whole plant will go through a die off period when the flower is done,

A cactus plant needs very little attention. No fertilizer. Put it in a sunny area. I would say only a tiny bit of water in a whole month. Remember cactus in a desert live in sand, no water & lots of sunlight. If you water too much the cactus will droop & die.

I just asked my better half about your questions. The main thing is not to over water them .She used to live in the desert and said about every six months is about right. As far as how to plant them there is a potting soil that you can get at the nursery made just for them. One thing that I found out about Christmas cactus is that if you want them to bloom at Christmas put them outside and the colder it gets the more it will bloom .My mother had one for years that she kept inside year around and it was scrawny and never had many blooms. Her sister told us to put it outside and man did it ever take off.

First of all congratulations for your new plant.
Cactus need very less water, means you water it once in a week only. And as it is a desert plant sunlight it must for it so daily place it in sun light for some time.

Good luck

First order of business is to keep the tags that identify the type of cacti you bought. Like most plants, each species will have slightly different requirements. Here is a link to my favorite website for growing and caring for cacti of all kinds:

Overwatering is the most common problem encountered with cacti. Overwatering can cause them to rot and die.

Good luck with your cacti gardening.
