the new dvd with Hugh Jackman in it.

Would the birds (like the canary) really have been killed in the movie to do the scene? The dead (chopped up) bird looked too real to me. Was it special effects? I hope so.

Yes those scenes are disturbing. I am sure they didn't harm animals when making that movie. Whenever they work with animals in movies there is always someone there monitoring their treatment. You will see a seal about this in the credits of the movie. Good movie!

That disturbed me too, but yes. There's always someone from the ASPCA on set whenever animals are used in a movie...by law.

It's all special effects and editing. If they used live animals they would be breaking laws, and no studio likes law suits.
