isnt that crazy, if we had white only clubs, and white achievment awards, and white scholarship funds, black people would be all over us calling us rascist, but they can have black achievement awards, black scholarship funds, and tons of black only groups.

how can they have all these things, and still call us rascist.

I am about to reveil the truth to all who don't know it. The only reason for this is because you whites already had and have all that. White scholarship funds? Colleges only used to except whites over blacks and most if not all colleges were predominately white. I agree that blacks should not get special attention but whites of all people should not be complaining seeing as they were the majority if not all of the population of colleges for a while. Blacks just started being REALLY accepted to colleges maybe in the 60's? I don't know where you go to school but at my school we have a french club a german club and all that stuff. Why should you get a white club? You really don't need one seeing as these race clubs are their to really study ones culture and white culture has been studied FOREVER. Now if you wanted separate clubs like say a irish club and a finnish club etc. than I agree otherwise there would be no point. Whites have been getting awards since well.....the invention of awards! Back then blacks, asians, and everyone else didn't get awards for science, tv, movies, or any of that is was all white people. Seriously whites have already been given all the things you have mentioned above so why shouldn't blacks or anyone else?

You and I both know why the institutions were put in place. As you know, there was once a time not long ago when black weren't allowed to participate in the media and there were absolutely no scholarships given to blacks at all. That's why. Now, we could argue if these institutions are needed today. And for the record, there is the NAAWP.

As far as scholarships and clubs are concerned, I agree with you.

I would fully support a scholarship limited to students who help endorse racial equality, but I disagree with a scholarship limited to students of a specific race, that only promotes segregation. One could argue that statistics prove minorities are less well off financially than whites and therefore deserve such scholarships, but there are several scholarships reserved for those who demonstrate financial need.

When whites don't let you participate in the what they do what choice do you have? You have to look at how these things got started. If you were not allowed to participate in something and there where no other options what would you do? Remember in the life time of many blacks alive today they were not even allowed to drink out of the same water fountain as whites.

There are clubs that are designated for a specific ethnicity other than black. Latin, French, German etc. As far as scholarships, scholarships often specify a certain group. There are scholarships for veterans, women, single mothers, sports, academics, certain majors, majority of races, religions, etc, so why does the black scholarships only offend you ?? There is so many things designated for specific types of people, not just black. The truth is, we really do not care what type of group of scholarship that whites have. I think that whites would like for us to. The fact is that we do not care if you are proud of being white and have dozens of things for whites, we just do not want anyone to attempt to step on our rights to do so. In the past, this his been white history. In attempts to assert "white rights" it meant the obliteration of everyone else's rights but white. Look at the history. Having rights is one thing, but having dominace over another race is another. Maybe the people that have a problem is the people that have knowledge of the past.

This generation is not willing to be color blind anytime in the near future. Black people still want to hold on to the past while white people are being discriminated against. It seems black people are now justified to be racist against the white people.

Inferiority complex?

It's all I can think of. A desire to promote only people like themselves, leads me to believe that they feel that only people like themselves need to be promoted.

Do whites need to be promoted? If a black says no, he's saying 1 of 2 things: whites are already superior, or he prefers blacks to succeed over whites. Either way its racist.

Personally I feel as though we should promote people based on their merit, and not the color of their skin.... What is holding these pro-black organizations back?

An unfounded feeling of inferiority...... or racism?

Because bigotry only works one way in this country. Only whites can be accused of bigotry. Apparently all the races, except the white race, are incapable of bigoted behavior. Which means, of course, that one of these groups isn't really human.

I will tell you and this does not mean I don't think that things should be equal. My sister and I are always discussing why some whites don't understand this when it's right on our faces. The atrocity of slavery was so severe and so ridiculous that today, black people do get special attention. Look at some pictures, read some stories about slavery and how unfairly blacks were treated in this country when they helped build to this nation and helped flourish it's' economy. Perhaps this will give you a little insight. Black people still get discrimated against today. White people try not to give special attention to blacks today but sometimes they do the opposite - give negative attention.
