Purchase from abroad is called Indent Order. The sales agent makes a contract called Indent Order Contract where the price of the item is in US Dollar (normally) and if the buyer agrees with it he signs it, and when the item is ready, the said document can be used to open the Letter of Credit.

Letter of Intent is one which is prepared prior to actual issuance of the Purchase order, whether the purchase is locally or from abroad. It is normally issued while some minor things are being studied or checked to signify intentions to issue the purchase order.
