While someones in a coma, do their hair/nails/etc. keep growing?

And if so, would their hair/nails be cut while they're in a coma?

Yes, people in coma have the same bodily functions as they had when they were cognisant. It is the family that decides on what type of grooming the patient will recieve. At a certain point, of the nails get too long, the hospital will intervene and have them filed down to prevent accidental cuts and therefore infection, but as for the hair, most families will opt to either cut it themselves, or have a barber come in and cut it.

And by the way, once dead, your hair and nails stop growing within 24 hours.

1. yes, they keep growing.
2. it depends on what the family wants done and will do themselves. usually, people aren't in comas for very long before they either get better or die, so it's not an issue.
