I bought some new sheets that are 500 thread count and white and I don't know if I can bleach them with hot water without ruining them. I have had "regular" value sheets before that were white and I have bleached them and they have been fine, I just don't know what bleach will do to a higher thread count sheet. Anyone know?

You should be ok with bleaching them as long as they have a high cotton content. If they have a lot of polyester, they will yellow with the use of bleach.

They will be fine with bleach. A higher thread count means that there are more threads per square inch. 500 thread count sheets and 250 thread count (regular) are usually made of the same material. If your still not sure, Take a look at the care label. Hope this helps!

I don't recommend using chlorine bleach to bleach any type of fabric. It's a caustic acid. Use baking soda and hydrogen peroxide instead

As long as they are cotton, I would say its OK, as long as you don't pour the bleach on the material. Wash as usual, look at the label.

Use Oxy clean and soak them for a day in it - it will not ruin clothes or linens.
