i think Newcastle to come from way behind with Johns gone after 3min to win the game was a great effort

I was impressed with the Cowboys in the first half and the back end of the second, Jonathan Thurston played particully well.
Titans went OK, Prince lead the around well but I wasnt impressed with Hilder, I think Campbell should be 6 and the British lad Mathers should be 1.
The most dominant were clearly the Sea Eagles and I can see them being very very tough to get on top of this season.
I was dissapointed with the Broncos and the Dragons to some extent, I think the had the chance to kill the Titans but didnt take the chance. The rookie 3 had a solid game.

One wonders with a new team just how they will 'gel' on the field. Having watched the Titans, I am impressed with how quickly they seem to be playing as a team. They will only get better.

Cronulla's win over Penrith was, to say the least, surprising. Not only the fact that they won, but 18-0? Were Penrith that bad or Cronulla that good? On paper the Penrith team isn't too bad. I wondered what effect having Ricky Stewart as coach would have on the Sharks.

The standout performance was obviously Manly. They are my team so I rejoice with other Sea Eagle fans. But looking at this game objectively, Canberra were playing away from home, and Canberra, atleast initially, are favourites to win the wooden spoon. So perhaps not much can be read into the Sea Eagles victory.

There were 2 stand outs for me in the weekend that was.

1. The cowboys with the number of pure kicking options was impressive against a full strength broncos team.
2. the Warriors at home demolishing of the eels was a good show of form....

my tip is the warriors are a good chance to make the top 4 the cowboys should feature in the finals if they keep smithy fit.

Manly clearly dominated and Newcastle did a tremendous job to recover after Joey left the game. Warriors surprised me, I think they played very clever football and of course the Titans only went down by such a narrow margin in their first ever comp game. Yeah well done to them and congrats to all those on the winning teams this week because I wasn't :(

I think that the Titans played great, I was a bit disappointed by the Broncos, however. I was shocked when I heard that Andrew Johns had been taken to hospital after Sonny Bill Williams tackled him.

cowboys and storm.
i think that the titans played well but the dragons were so under strength that it would have been more like a reserve grade team, could pose a problem for the titans when they come up against a full strength team of contenders.

Even though they didn't win I was impressed by the Gold Coast Titans, I think they did very well for their first game.
