With the impotence of NORAD on 9/11 why don't we dismantle it?

THE DAY ITSELF - EVIDENCE OF COMPLICITY
1) AWOL Chain of Command
a. It is well documented that the officials topping the chain of command for response to a domestic attack - George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Richard Myers, Montague Winfield - all found reason to do something else during the actual attacks, other than assuming their duties as decision-makers.

b. Who was actually in charge? Dick Cheney, Richard Clarke, Norman Mineta and the 9/11 Commission directly conflict in their accounts of top-level response to the unfolding events, such that several (or all) of them must be lying.
2) Air Defense Failures
a. The US air defense system failed to follow standard procedures for responding to diverted passenger flights.
b. Timelines: The various responsible agencies - NORAD, FAA, Pentagon, USAF, as well as the 9/11 Commission - gave radically different explanations for the failure (in some cases upheld for years), such that several officials must have lied; but none were held accountable.
c. Was there an air defense standdown?
3) Pentagon Strike
How was it possible the Pentagon was hit 1 hour and 20 minutes after the attacks began? Why was there no response from Andrews Air Force Base, just 10 miles away and home to Air National Guard units charged with defending the skies above the nation’’s capital? How did Hani Hanjour, a man who failed as a Cessna pilot on his first flight in a Boeing, execute a difficult aerobatic maneuver to strike the Pentagon? Why did the attack strike the just-renovated side, which was largely empty and opposite from the high command?
4) Wargames
a. US military and other authorities planned or actually rehearsed defensive response to all elements of the 9/11 scenario during the year prior to the attack - including multiple hijackings, suicide crashbombings, and a strike on the Pentagon.
b. The multiple military wargames planned long in advance and held on the morning of September 11th included scenarios of a domestic air crisis, a plane crashing into a government building, and a large-scale emergency in New York. If this was only an incredible series of coincidences, why did the official investigations avoid the issue? There is evidence that the wargames created confusion as to whether the unfolding events were “real world or exercise.” Did wargames serve as the cover for air defense sabotage, and/or the execution of an “inside job”?
5) Flight 93
Did the Shanksville crash occur at 10:06 (according to a seismic report) or 10:03 (according to the 9/11 Commission)? Does the Commission wish to hide what happened in the last three minutes of the flight, and if so, why? Was Flight 93 shot down, as indicated by the scattering of debris over a trail of several miles?

notice the damage to building 6, the crater type hole in the middle of building 6. yet it is not completly collapsed. There is very little damage to either the verizon building or the federal building. but right in between those buildings building 7 is completed collapsed! and the building that was in between it and the world trade center tower building has not completly collapsed?

Are you really going to believe that the damage done to building7 caused a complete collapse. and not a complete collapse to building 6?

If seeing is believing here are the best pictures to see for yourself please look at them. be honest with yourself. and answer the question how is that possible?
So the offical story is, if you can believe it - that the building directly beside the WTC tower DOES NOT completely collapse. but the building on the OTHER SIDE OF BUILDING 6 DOES COMPLETELY COLLAPSE?

well you've got to understand what part NORAD plays in are nation safety. it don't watch airplanes per say they do that in Florida not NORAD they watch are space for incoming ICBMs;s from other country's that's what NORAD does so dismantling it would be a the greatest mistake we could ever do the whole world would be endangered , not just the USA ;Canada Alaska and Mexico that's why we don't want to bother NORAD what you are talking about takes place in a whole other place and state.

Because all those systems were set up against missiles, not against planes. Look it up. We could not shoot planes carrying civilians out of the sky without knowing why they were going the wrong way.
Something like the old Reagan star wars plan was also planned against missiles. The planes also did not enter from foreign air space and were not carrying bombs either.
It was a completely different type of situation.

Think about it - would you like to be a passenger on a plane that lost control for some reason and have the government shoot you down, let say the plane was just having problems or hijacked. Some planes have been hijacked and we have regained control of them or the passengers have not been killed by the hijackers.
The above answers do not address what was going on and are just from the "government did something wrong" way of thinking. They would be complaining more loudly if we shot down planes having problems routinely wouldn't they?

There were hijacked planes flying around for 2 hours.....2 HOURS?!?!? Sorry, but when payne stewart's plane when off course, fighter jets were up in the air within 15 minutes.

What happened with NORAD was a stand down, there is no other explanation. And the WAR GAMES....why did they coincidentally mirror the REAL events of 9/11.

Fact: Mr Rumsfeld ordered different exercises in alaska and northern Canada. Also, he moved the remaining planes to Southern US, in this way efficiently paralyzing any response from Norad in Washington/New York.
The few that remained in the area were ordered to stand down that day.

NORAD doesn't track every commercial flights there are in North America, they only track for military or unidentified planes, objects, and etc. Something that could pose a threat and etc. A high jacked plane could be paid attention to but usual plane high jacks use the passengers as hostages and use them for demands and to land outside of U.S. control and power to take the demands even further, not intentionally crashing it. And NORAD would follow procedures on this, not hastly shoot down a commercial jet with civilians on it.

Andrews air force base can have a fighter plane on a rogue planes butt in 3 minutes,,,, DC area,,,, they do this all the time,,,, since i was a child... anyway,,,, i lived there... why not this day.....

You can't be that ignorant....no military agency in the world could have responded to 2 commercial airliners hitting a building in NYC. They were effective, they simply didn't have time to respond. NORAD was designed to protect us from foreign attacks, not one that started from our own soil. Get your facts straight before you try and tear down the military that you obviously have it out for.
