"It is possible" which is a whole different ball game. Like it is possible that I could have an oil well in my back yard because I live in Texas. Possible, but ain't going to happen.

First of all, no one said that it would be easy to achieve your dreams or goals, just that it's possible. First, focus on what it is you really want. Set some realistic goals. You may have to make sacrifices. You might have to go slowly - take classes at night. The age isn't important. Trust me, life isn't over at fifty. You just have to know what you want and want it badly enough to do what it takes. And you have to be realistic about what you are willing to do. You can't become a brain surgeon if you don't want to go to school for a long time. You can't be an actor if you don't want to live in a place like LA or New York. You probably would have problems finding a job as a marine scientist if you didn't live close to a large body of water. The important thing is to take one step each day toward your goal, even if it's just going by the local community college and getting a course catalog or making an appointment with the financial aide office and counselling to get some help. Ask yourself where you will be in 5 years if you don't do something. Then, where could you be in 5 years if you move toward your goals.

Good luck to you. You really can do it, but it's got to be you doing it.

I think everyone is afraid to answer this question. Your age is a serious weight on what you can achieve. Do you have any money saved up or something? What exactly are your dreams? If you’re unhappy then go with your heart and go live that life you’ve always wanted. If it's starting a business make a plan everything worked out and take out a loan. If you want to travel save up money by reducing your bills possibly canceling things unneeded and after you have enough get up and go. You'll be dead in thirty or less years what will you want to of done by then? Perhaps you should take up some night classes or something.

Yes, it's difficult.
Too many people that think that they know what's "best for you" have done their best to keep people chained to one lifestyle or another, and to follow "the norm" for their entire lives.

SO WHAT? Break out of the mould and be yourself. Screw the norm. So what if some people look at you funny or talk behind your back about being "different" - they aren't the ones that have to look at you in the mirror every morning. Do what you have to so you can be happy with who you are. Forget everyone else - tell 'em to pound sand.

That's a lie! There is no freaking freedom in America! You cannot say much, and you can't even raise your children the way you want to. You can't speak up in schools, and you can't even be yourself at work, you have to freaking pretend and give that stupid fake smile to customers! America is fake, and there is nobody with a true freedom here!
