I have recently found out that someone has forged my deceased grandfather name to deed land and sale it. Can I get that land deeded back and have that person prosecuted?

Well, yes. Theft is illegal no matter how you look at it, whether it was a stick of gum or 500 acres of land, theft is theft. If you can undisputedly prove that his signature was forged, then yes, you can prosecute them and if the buyer won't cooperate and return the deed, then they can be prosecuted for felony possession of stolen property.
