It is not so simple.
The Star Wars Expanded Universe is a very large and confusing place. For George Lucas to attempt to make another film, he would need to gather around himself a very large amount of writers before even attempting it.
George Lucas is in charge of creative changes to the Star Wars universe. The death of main characters, and Large universal changes must first pass his screening before authors are allowed to proceed. Lucasfilm tries to keep the works of various authors flowing together with as few problems as possible.
There are so many books ranging from long before EP1 all the way to the new "legacy era" that for Lucas to make a new movie, he would either have to focus on someone other than the main characters everyone knows and loves, or he would have to make a Movie/Series, about an existing book set.
I would love to see a Bounty Hunters Trilogy
Or even New Jedi Order
However, we have yet to see if George is willing to direct someone Else's writing when it comes to Star Wars, or if he wants to leave it all as it stands. Or a third choice, create something strange and new in the universe.

before he did Ep 1-3 it was said 7-9 would be based on the Heir to the Empire book series.
but according to lucas he'sdone with the movies.. just the tv show.
however i have heard a interesting story.
i know someone who was told by a friend someting that had happened not long after ep 3 came out.
he was on a beach somewhere and ran into Lucas. He asked him about the future of SW, and he said there was no plans to continue it anytime soon past the tv series.
He asked George if he ever did another movie would it be a sequel or a prequel and george supposedly said that the only thing he'd consider right now or anytime soon was a preqeul.
he'd like to go back 800 years to the original sith wars where a young yoda helps win them.

What we think we want him to do and what he is going to do is two different things. I think the three Star War movies have worn him out. He is not as young as he was when he did the first three and by now I am sure he is getting tired of it. Do we really want him making more Star War movies if he is getting tired of doing them? What I do see him doing is playing with the six Star War movies digitally and making the six movies tell their stories in better transition from one chapter to the next. I have read that he likes toying with CGI and dressing up the older chapter 4-6 episodes. Anyway those are my thoughts.

Anthony! You ROCK!!! I absolutely agree with you on the Idea of making another "Star Wars" movie about Bounty Hunters. Besides, according to the Expanded Universe my sweetheart Boba Fett does not die.
There is a "space" in between Star Wars-III and Star Wars-IV, we are talking about 18-20 years. That could be a good movie. And of course millions want to know what happen NEXT, so how about "Star Wars-VII"? I would love to see that.

I'd like to see the rise of the Empire because it didn't happen overnight. There are some great books that would probably hold up as movies. I'm willing to bet that if Lucas can't come up with something else that's good he will make another SW film.

NO! George should NOT make more movies. Look at how badly episodes 1-3 turned out! He should hire people who are good at writing and directing. Maybe after he dies we'll finally see the last three chapters.

Unless he does a couple of movies after the six one i doubt it. The new jedi order is a series set after the six movie that he might follow possibly. I still kind of doubt it though. Hes done two brilliant triologies why make a third? Plus hes going to be busy with indiana jones 4.

yes, I think he should. Sequels to what? I think he could make some movies more specifically about , for instance Han Solo's life, Princess Leia, etc. etc.
