I have thought of this many times and it makes me feel so happy to exist. This is not a religious question. Think of the probability of you. Where do you begin, would you be the same if you came from a different egg, sperm, or combo of the two? I guess we are products of probability and variablility. Obviously you may look different due to genetic variability, but does a different sperm= a diffferent conciousness. I believe that it probably does. READ THIS BEFORE REPLYING: If you flip a quarter and it lands on tails, is it simple probability, or did some supernatural and "invisible" force will it to do so since the beginning of time? Hint: USE LOGIC.

Though you said it is not religious, in the absence of any scientific proof of such a consciousness existing, it becomes speculation and if enough people believe in you, you have a religious following. Well, actually, you are not the first. The theory of destiny explains it in the same way. For example, when you toss the coin, the result is predetermined though you may not know it. That you are going to take the coin and toss it is also determined. This determininistic model of the universe has its followers but is not appealing to many 'normal' people who need an element of a delusion called 'free will' for their being normal.

Quite simply, no, you would not be the same person. You would have different ... perhaps *radically* different genes ... in fact, it is even odds that you would be the opposite gender.
