MJ is a great team player. Kobe is a great individual player. Basketball is a team sport hence the more rings that MJ has than Kobe period.
Besides that why the hell are you trying to make us like Kobe over MJ. Kobe doesnt even come close to MJ as a baller and a human being.

First off, Kobe was playing an MJ that was waaayyy past his prime. And like you said, Jordan scored 3 more then Kobe. That was when he was past his prime. Ouch.
No one is scared to admit Kobe is good. He just isn't AS good as Michael Jordan. You're probably not going to see anyone as good as Jordan for a long time. If people believed Kobe was as good as Jordan then it wouldn't be Lebron James mentioned in the "Next King" talk.
The big deciding factor in the Kobe/Jordan arguement is the caliber of players that Jordan was up against in his hayday and the caliber of players Kobe is against right now. I can think of maybe a handful of players that can even compare to the likes of Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Reggie Miller, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Joe Dumars, John Stockton, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Clyde Drexler....just to name a few. Magic Johnson himself, when talking about the talent of Jordan said, "There's Michael Jordan and then there's the rest of us.". He holds a NBA record 10 scoring titles and seven consecutive matching only Wilt Chamberlain. And we're not even going to get into the championships. And that was against some of the best players the game has ever seen. There's a few guys out there that can hold their own, but the league was FULL of guys like that back in Jordan's day. And did I mention they still played defense back then? Just ask Joe Dumars.
He pretty much defined his era in basketball and I can't say the same for Kobe. Instead of keeping his mouth shut, he single handedly help dismantle the Lakers....who could've rivaled the success of the Bulls had they stayed together. He's a pompous prima donna and having that attitude has pretty much put a cap on the rings he could've accumulated with the guys he was with. It's just another case of why the attitude that the individual reigns supreme is bringing down the NBA as a whole.
And for those who say MJ wasn't an "individual talent", his teammates didn't get those NBA RECORD 10 scoring titles for him. Teams win championships, individuals set records.

Yeah, Kobe's a beast. Just ask Katelyn Faber. You never saw MJ with press about raping women. You also never saw MJ discredit his teammates in interviews as Kobe has done time and again.
OK, so he can score. So can a lot of other guys; NBA history is littered with guys who could score points and not win big games. Kobe is one of them. When he earns rings (not riding on Shaq's back) then maybe we'll talk about how he's better than MJ.

I'm a kobe fan, but MJ dominated the game during his time, when Kobe gets a couple more rings then will he get his props until then he's just a superstar on an average team

i don't care that jordan had scottie pippen. that's all he had, no others of jordan's teammates could be considered all stars. Ok kobe had freakin' shaq on his team to win championships with. Jordan had Luc Longley and Bill Cartwright, I mean c'mon! I know Kobe is crazy legendary good, but I honestly think ( i don't care how old and good they are know) kobe, lebron they won't reach that. If they're lucky and continue playing as brilliantly as they have been and win some more championships, they might reach the status as Larry Bird and Magic, but there is only one throne and only one king, and that' MJ

As you say, Kobe is a beast! But tell me if you would - how many championships has Kobe won? And how many more will he win if he continues to think that he is the "stick that stirs the drink" in LA? Teams win championships - not players. Michael was smart enough to realize that early on in his career(which in my mind is the REAL reason he's the better player) - I hope Kobe comes to realize that before too much longer!

If we are going to talk about INDIVIDUAL TALENT, i definitely think that Kobe is better than MJ. The question on why is Kobe's lakers not as dominant as MJ's bulls is because MJ had teammates that are of high caliber. Consider Pippen, Rodman, Kerr, Kukoc. Kobe is all alone. But individually, Kobe is better. People just wouldn't admit it because the NBA owes a lot to MJ because he was the one who 'saved' the reputation of the NBA. But the reality is - KOBE is a monster.
