i am a diehard steelers fan and porter was my fave player but yeah this year they will be good but you gotta be real in knowing that they wont probably win the superbowl or anything bc they were good with their coach cower and now the new guy is a good coach too but hes gonna try new stuff. every team that gets a new coach who tries new things takes a year or two to get back on track....(by the way did you here porter got into a fist fight yesterday at a casino with a bengals player...those f***in jerks...just thought youd like to know)

Joey Porter Was the leader of the defense and will be missed by some but the steelers will excell next year. Big ben will be healthy & Willie parker was having an exceptional season. Najeh Davenport will only help Parker as he help's take the load off the run game. Look for Steeler's to be playoff contenders this year.

I have a feeling they have faith in Harrison because he played very well when Porter was out last year. They also will draft a LB or DE in this years draft to add some depth at the LB position because that was a problem last year when we had LB's go down one after another. We definitely will stick to the 3-4 at least this year because Lebeau is still our DC and the 3-4 is set in stone with him. Steelers are still a great team and this year we will be flying under the radar as opposed to last year. The jury is still out on Big Ben he did play a lot better towards the end of the season so that is really encouraging. We will see how this year goes we will still have a great running game with Parker and Davenport so that will make Ben's job a lot easier. I think a lot of Ben's problems last year were the inexperience at receiver and drops, those were really frustrating. But Santonio and Ben seemed to get going by the end of the season so next year is going to be very promising, just need to start using our million dollar TE more. With all that said I say we go 11-5 make the playoffs, beat the Bengals twice, Browns twice, and split with the Ravens.

Big Ben was rushed back into service last year. The Steeler coaching staff made a huge mistake in rushing him back. The team was performing adequately (if not "superb") with Charlie Batch at the helm. Roethlisberger is supposedly 100% now and should direct the offense much better this season.

Joey Porter is getting up there in age, but still has a tremendous motor and is one of the best sacking linebackers in the game. I really think the defense is going to miss him. There are still serious playmakers on this defense, though. More than anything, Porter was cut to make some cap space, get rid of his mouth and may signal a change to the 4-3 instead of the 3-4 defense that Porter excels in.

Mike Tomlin is an incredibly talented coach. Yeah, he's no Bill Cowher but you can expect your team to still play with plenty of fervor and win plenty of games this year and in future years.
